Open Streets 2026 Detour Map

All streets on the event route will be closed to motorized traffic and on-street parking during and prior to the event. Professional flaggers will be stationed at two vehicle crossing locations along 2nd Street – Monroe Avenue and Washington Avenue. Southbound right turns from 2nd Street onto Jackson Avenue will be allowed.

Parking on the event route will be restricted 6 am to 4 pm to allow for set-up and take-down of activities on the street. The road closure will be in effect 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, June 28. Road closure signs will be posted by 10:30 am on event day and set-up adjacent to the activity hubs will begin at 9 am.

Parking will be available at designated locations off the route. Learn more by visiting our Getting There page.

You will be able to get to and from your home or business at all times, but we encourage you to limit or postpone trips by car. If you drive, please plan for a 10-minute traffic delay. All barricaded intersections will be staffed by trained volunteers, called “Intersection Superheroes” to manage access safely. These volunteers, wearing reflective vests and Open Streets t-shirts, will escort people to and from their residences or businesses if needed. If leaving, please flag down a volunteer (located at the nearest intersection) to escort you off the route and drive at a walking pace until you exit the route. If you know that you need to leave during the event, consider parking off the route in advance and walking to your car.

Make a plan! Since parking will be very limited on the day of the event, we recommend taking alternative transportation. If you do need to drive, we recommend the following options:

Option 1: Park & Ride: Park at either of these OSU lots and take the free event shuttle between 10 am and 4 pm.
Option 2: Public Lots Downtown
Option 3: On-Street Parking
  • On-street parking will be open on all downtown streets except on the event route.
